Marlborough Antiques & Restorations was established in 1989 in a small corner shop in Leichhardt, Sydney.
Specialising in hand caning and rush seat chair repairs, they became known as ‘the chair people’. From simple 19th Century bentwood café chairs to intricate double-sided French Bergère chairs, to 20th Century designer & retro chairs, Mark applies equal skill and diligence to his craft.
In 1996 Marlborough Antiques & Restorations had a sea-change, moving to Milton on the NSW south coast where Mark continues to repair chairs with rush seating, re-caning chairs, and restoring all furniture including fireplace surrounds and tables. He believes no chair is unfixable and no job too large or small. Mark can also arrange upholstery if required and is happy to offer useful advice relating to his craft.
